PART II: Generation Next Changes the Face of the Workplace

  1. Why is addressing this issue so important?  Shouldn’t workers adjust to meet the needs of their employers?
Addressing this issue is so important because of the modernization being experienced in our lives, as well as in business areas. There are different views of work that have been implemented in every generation. For me, the workers must also adjust to meet the needs of their employers. And through this, they can retain to their work and work even more to earn.

  1. What can employers who can’t afford such extensive programs as the Deloitte organization do to address the changing preferences of their younger workers?  What would you like to see your employer or prospective employer do to address your wants and needs to retain you?
Perhaps they can also implement the Generation Y on their work preferences. Those who are efficient workers will be retained. As for me, I would like my prospective employer to be fair in each worker he has, and satisfy us with the salary, for me to strive more just to retain.

PART III: Destination CEO: Clarence Otis: Darden Restaurants

Part V: Leadership: Making Decisions during Hurricane Katrina

  1. What model of decision making did the Sisters of Holy Angels have to rely on to guide them through thee hurricane tragedy?
The leadership they have during the hurricane Katrina is exceptional. With their strong belief in God, and good intention to save the lives of people, they became strong to lead the victims.

  1. What part do you think intuition and creativity played in each of the Sisters’ stories?  Explain how.
In Thibodeaux’s situation, it is when she clearly saw that the hurricane is coming in New Orleans Superdome. She is courageous of avoiding the tragedy and had threatened the contract ambulance driver just to save the lives of the ailing nuns.
Next, in Kinberger’s situation, it is when she made the military to become a ministry of the sisters.
Third, in Fitzpatrick’s situation, it is when she has still hope to make an effort and has become successful to find housing for the Sisters who can no longer reside in New Orleans and has built preschool.
Last, in Trosclair’s situation, it is by her bravery to evacuate the victims of the hurricane despite of lack in facilities and other resources, except her “resource within”.

Essence of Human Behavior in Organization

     Human behavior makes us extraordinary.

Attitude, culture, and genetics are just some of the factors that comprises human behavior. Because of this, we have what we call 'individual differences'.

Nowadays, human behavior is being used to know how a person thinks and behaves. Also, it is now being used to measure the strengths and weaknesses of an individual. Just like for example, in organization, it is being used to have a wise decision who to hire or not, and who to assign in different fields by basing their expertise.

Having a good human behavior is ideal in an organization. For example, we can use the two dimensions. First, using a quantitative, we can easily determine its job performance, such as accuracy, and its capability to finish a particular task. Or by using qualitative which scales the goodness or badness of a person.

As for me, human behavior has an impact in work performance of an individual. If it is good, the outcome will also be good, vise versa.

Having a good human behavior, it will always starts in you, within you.

MYSELF: BORN TO BECOME A GOOD HUMAN RESOURCE

"Every man is the architect of his own character."-George Dana Boardman

In nineteen years of existence, I motivate myself to be a better person. Through ups and downs, I'd never give up. Maybe because of the people believing in my abilities and some inspirational quotes helped me to encourage myself to strive more and more, for in the end, I'll be the one to reap what I sow.

Everyone has its own journey and a story to make. And to me, I want to be remembered as a good human resource.

I am known for being a responsible individual. As a college student, I see to it that I always meet the requirements. I participate in school activities, and even helping to plan for an upcoming event.

Second, I set priorities. And first on my list will always benefit the reason of my existence, MY FAMILY. I don't like wasting my time doing nothing special. Whenever there are works to be done, I prefer to finish it first before goofing around.

Next, I am a leader. A friend of mine once said that he sees me as a woman who has a power to lead. And now, I can say that I really am. Whenever there are activities to be done in group, most of the time, I am chosen to be a leader. So, I always give the best that I could to manage my group. I listen to their ideas and putting this together to have a better outcome.

We are all living for a purpose, and having this gift of life, I would not waste this chance given by God. So I always do my best, and let God to do the rest.
